Colorado Released Inmates is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody or release, free anyone, post bond, or retrieve an official record.
Find the Record Owner
Colorado has no single local office that can answer every release question. Direct an official-record correction, custody check, or request to the agency that created the information. An editorial note about this site's wording is different from an official record request. Do not send Social Security numbers, medical records, identity documents, passwords, or other sensitive material to this site.
- For someone released from a county jail, use the County Directory to reach the responsible sheriff or jail. That local agency owns the jail custody and release record.
- For the fields in a release record and the correct request route at the county or state level, start with the Colorado released-inmates home page.
- For state prison or parole jurisdiction, use the CDOC Offender Search or the Colorado Department of Corrections records-request service. CDOC is not the source for a person who only left a county jail.
- For probation or a court order, contact the filing court or use Colorado Judicial county-probation routing. For state parole, see Parole & Probation.
- For a named institution, check the Facility Directory before contacting the facility or its parent agency.
- For a federal prison release, use the BOP Inmate Locator. Immigration custody uses the ICE Online Detainee Locator System.
A person can be released from one custodian while still subject to parole, probation, a detainer, transfer, or another case. The agency that owns the relevant record is the only source that can resolve a disputed status or change its data.
